Where does the ship dock?
Confirm the quay before planning anything else. Oceankaj is a modern outer terminal area; Langelinie and Nordre Toldbod sit closer to classic waterfront sights.
Can I walk into town?
Langelinie supports an easy Little Mermaid and Kastellet start. From Oceankaj, treat the first city connection as part of the day rather than assuming attractions are outside the gate.
Practical information
Currency is Danish kroner, although cards are dominant. Weather changes quickly; carry a light waterproof layer and expect bicycles at crossings and kerbs.
What fits the day?
Two hours can cover one waterfront cluster. A half-day supports Nyhavn plus a museum or palace. A full day can add Tivoli or a second district, with a protected terminal return.
Safety and return
Copenhagen is straightforward to navigate, but the main cruise risk is terminal confusion. Follow ship time and all-aboard, save the Oceankaj pier number or exact inner-harbour quay, and check the final connection.
