Where does the ship dock?
Flåm is small enough to cross on foot and busy enough to punish overplanning. Railway, Nærøyfjord boats and high road viewpoints each deserve to be the main event. The village, river and railway museum provide a worthwhile independent day when capacity or weather says no.
Can I walk into town?
The Flåm Railway, Railway Museum, valley walk, Ægir brewery architecture and fjord waterfront sit close. Nærøyfjord, Stegastein and Gudvangen are outer choices; do not combine them casually because their transport chains look neat on a brochure.
Practical information
Low cloud can hide viewpoints while rain changes waterfalls and path surfaces. Check the railway, boats and roads with their operators and let the valley remain the day if a high panorama disappears.
What fits the day?
Two hours suits the village, museum and lower valley. Half a day can support a reserved return railway ride or local cycling. A full day can take one through-fjord or road circuit only when every connection is protected.
Safety and return
Respect rail platforms, mooring areas, farms and residents moving through a crowded village. The safe finish is the exact ship or tender point, not a station platform reached at the advertised arrival minute.
