Where does the ship dock?
Ensenada can be a rewarding town day without a coach. Save the port gate, then connect the harbour, Riviera cultural centre, market streets and one patient local meal.
Can I walk into town?
Kumiai homelands, mission and ranching periods, Mexican civic life, migration, fishing, tourism and cross-border trade all deserve space beyond a cruise-strip narrative.
Practical information
Coastal mornings can be cool before stronger sun. La Bufadora paths and market approaches are uneven and crowded; wineries vary widely in step-free access.
What fits the day?
A short Ensenada call holds the malecón and Riviera comfortably. Half a day can add markets or a museum. A longer call supports either La Bufadora or one wine-valley route, never both by improvisation.
Safety and return
A few courteous Spanish words matter. Support local makers, do not photograph people as scenery, keep port workers clear and treat Kumiai culture as living rather than decorative.
