Where does the ship dock?
Port Canaveral has several cruise terminals across a broad vehicle-oriented harbour. The terminal number in your cruise documents is essential. The port is at Cape Canaveral on the Atlantic coast, not in central Orlando.
Can I walk into town?
The terminal districts are designed mainly for vehicles rather than walking between sights. Use an authorised taxi, rideshare pickup, cruise excursion or pre-booked transfer. The Cove dining area and nearby beaches require a journey from many terminals; confirm the practical route before setting out.
Practical information
Currency is US dollars, card payment is common and tipping is customary for table service and taxis. Heat, sun and storms can change conditions quickly. Travellers needing assistance should arrange it with the cruise line and transfer provider before embarkation.
What fits the day?
With two hours, choose a nearby waterfront stop only if transport is ready. A half-day can suit Cocoa Beach. A full day may fit Kennedy Space Center only with advance planning, admission and dependable transport; it is not a casual walk from the ship and should never be squeezed against all-aboard.
Safety and return
Use permitted transport operators and stay on public passenger routes in the working harbour. Road delays can be significant, particularly after attractions or launches. Follow ship time and the ship's stated all-aboard deadline, and return with enough margin for the drive, terminal access and security.
