Where does the ship dock?

Bari’s passenger harbour is part of a working Adriatic port rather than a single compact cruise pier. The old city is the natural first destination, but the day begins by recording the ship’s exact berth, exit and return gate.

Can I walk into town?

The Basilica of Saint Nicholas, cathedral, Norman-Swabian Castle, Bari Vecchia and the seafront form a strong walkable circuit. Alberobello, Polignano a Mare and Matera are separate excursions with much larger return risks.

Practical information

Summer shade is limited on the waterfront, churches observe worship and siesta-style opening gaps can affect smaller sites. Check current admission and transport before crossing the city or committing to a regional train.

What fits the day?

Two hours suits a direct old-city loop. Half a day can add the castle, seafront or a museum. A full day should choose one regional destination and preserve a conservative return rather than collecting towns.

Use licensed transport, stay out of working vehicle areas and carry the berth notice offline. The safe finish is the ship’s named passenger gate with time for internal transfer and security, not simply arrival somewhere inside the port boundary.
