Where does the ship dock?
Livorno deserves a city plan of its own, but many passengers use it for Pisa or Florence. Decide which experience matters before leaving the port; attempting both distant cities weakens the return margin.
Can I walk into town?
Take the shuttle to the centre. Walk canals, market and fortresses locally, or transfer to Livorno Centrale for a pre-planned train journey.
Practical information
Euros and cards are common. Validate local tickets, watch for limited Sunday services and expect open waterfront weather.
What fits the day?
Two hours supports Venezia Nuova and the market. Half a day can reach Pisa; Florence needs a long call, early departure and substantial rail recovery time.
Safety and return
Return to the official shuttle point before its cutoff. A delayed train from Florence or Pisa still leaves the commercial-port transfer unresolved.
