Where does the ship dock?
Treat Piraeus and Athens as two linked but distinct destinations. Confirm terminal A, B or C, then decide whether the available time supports local Piraeus or the longer Athens journey.
Can I walk into town?
For a short call, Marina Zeas, Pasalimani and the Piraeus museum reduce transfer risk. Athens needs a planned outbound and return route with a substantial margin.
Practical information
Currency is the euro and cards are common. Summer heat can materially slow walking, while historic areas often include polished stone, slopes and steps.
What fits the day?
Two hours suits Piraeus waterfront. A half-day can reach one central Athens anchor. A full day can combine the Acropolis area with Plaka, but only with a firm return plan.
Safety and return
Use ship time and the stated all-aboard, save the terminal letter, and allow for congestion around the port. On metro and busy market routes, keep valuables secure and retain enough budget for a taxi fallback.
