Where does the ship dock?
Villefranche begins with a tender directly into a small hillside town. A rewarding day needs little travel, while Nice, Èze or Monaco require a train or road decision layered on top of the tender.
Can I walk into town?
Walk from Port de la Santé into the waterfront and old town. Reach the station by an uphill route for regional trips, checking disruption before leaving the bay.
Practical information
Euros and cards are common. Steep lanes, stairways and sun exposure shape the visit, while the tender makes weather more operationally important than ashore at a normal quay.
What fits the day?
Two hours is enough for the old town, Citadel and harbour. Half a day can add Villa Ephrussi; Nice or Monaco should be the sole focus of a longer call.
Safety and return
Use the ship’s last-tender time, not the scheduled departure alone. Regional trains can be crowded or disrupted, so leave a later service unused as a fallback.
