Alicante Cruise Port Guide

Alicante’s cruise area is close to the waterfront but separated by port roads. A shuttle normally delivers passengers near the centre, where the Explanada, old town and Postiguet are compact.

Where does the ship dock?

Alicante is one of the easier Spanish calls once the port shuttle reaches the centre. The main decision is whether to stay within the compact waterfront or spend transport time on the castle, Lucentum or Tabarca.

Can I walk into town?

Take the official shuttle out of the secure quay. Explanada, the old town, Postiguet and several museums then fit on foot; the castle requires a lift, bus or steep route.

Practical information

Euros and cards are common. Strong sun, castle gradients and polished paving after rain affect comfort; carry water and check lift operation.

What fits the day?

Two hours covers the waterfront and one old-town sight. Half a day supports the castle and museum circuit; Tabarca needs a full-day timetable and favourable conditions.

Safety and return

Return through the shuttle point with time for a queue. For the coast tram, Tabarca boat or outlying archaeology, keep a second return option and a taxi reserve.
