Where does the ship dock?
Zadar is a two-port cruise destination. Gaženica is the modern out-of-centre terminal; the peninsula port is beside the old city. The ship’s port name decides whether the day begins with a transfer or a walk.
Can I walk into town?
The Roman Forum, Saint Donatus, cathedral, Kalelarga, city walls, markets, Sea Organ and Greeting to the Sun form a compact urban route. Nin and national parks belong to separate, transport-led plans.
Practical information
The waterfront is exposed to sun, wind and spray, while ancient paving can be uneven. Check museum access, current transport and any excursion boat operation before leaving reliable mobile coverage.
What fits the day?
Two hours suits the Forum-to-waterfront loop. Half a day can add a museum and market. A full day may include Nin or one carefully timed regional destination, with weather and road margins protected.
Safety and return
At Gaženica, save the terminal rather than the city centre. At the peninsula port, save the ship’s quay rather than a generic ferry point. Distant parks need vetted transport and an early decision to turn back.
