Palma combines a spread-out cruise harbour with a compact cathedral quarter. First identify the berth, then choose between a city day and an island trip; the two need very different return margins.
Can I walk into town?
For the old town, use the shuttle, EMT bus or taxi to a central drop-off and continue on foot. Bellver Castle and farther island sights need a separate transport decision.
Practical information
Euros and cards are standard. Summer heat makes shade and water important, while old-town surfaces and Bellver gradients can change the walking load.
What fits the day?
A short call suits the cathedral, waterfront gardens and old lanes. Half a day can add a museum or Bellver; a full day can reach a farther attraction only after the exact return is secured.
Safety and return
Use ship time, not local assumptions. Preserve time for road traffic, the correct port gate and security; island buses or beaches should never consume the final return option.
