Where does the ship dock?
Málaga offers a strong city day immediately beyond the port: waterfront, fortress, cathedral and museums sit close together. Berth distance and hill climbs are the main variables.
Can I walk into town?
Use the port shuttle when offered, then walk from Muelle Uno into the old town. Take a bus or taxi uphill if Gibralfaro matters more than the climb.
Practical information
Euros and cards are widely accepted. Shade is limited on the port approach and castle hills; summer heat materially changes walking time.
What fits the day?
Two hours covers Muelle Uno, Alcazaba surroundings and the cathedral exterior. Half a day adds one museum; a full day can support Gibralfaro or a farther specialist museum.
Safety and return
Use the shuttle cutoff and security time as real deadlines. If visiting Gibralfaro or western museums, secure the return vehicle before the final hour.
