Gibraltar Cruise Port Guide

The cruise terminal lies about 1.5 km from Casemates Square. Main Street is walkable and level by local standards; the Upper Rock, caves and tunnels require steep roads, a tour, taxi or suitable public transport.

Where does the ship dock?

Gibraltar is compact at street level but vertical on the Rock. A town walk is low-risk; an Upper Rock circuit should be treated as a booked excursion with a defined return, not a casual uphill wander.

Can I walk into town?

Walk to Casemates and Main Street for the town. Use a licensed taxi, tour or operating public transport for the Nature Reserve; check attraction and cable-car status on the day.

Practical information

Carry sterling or a suitable card and check roaming arrangements near the Spanish and Moroccan networks. Macaques are wild animals: keep food secured and follow official instructions.

What fits the day?

Two hours fits the town and gardens. Half a day can cover a focused Upper Rock route. Dolphin trips, tunnels or Europa Point should replace, not simply stack onto, a full Nature Reserve circuit.

Safety and return

Use ship time and preserve a direct downhill or vehicle route. Do not depend on the last tour, cable car, frontier crossing or boat return before all-aboard.
