Where does the ship dock?
Nassau supports a genuinely compact independent city day from Prince George Wharf. Separate that walkable core from Paradise Island, Cable Beach, Clifton and other road or water outings before adding stops.
Can I walk into town?
Walk from the terminal into Bay Street, Parliament Square and the Straw Market. Use the official taxi area, a verified jitney route, ferry or organised tour for everywhere else, and save the return entrance before leaving.
Practical information
The Bahamian dollar and US dollar are used at parity, while card acceptance varies. Traffic keeps left. Carry sun protection, drinking water and rain cover, and check current marine conditions before swimming or boating.
What fits the day?
Two hours covers a downtown history loop. Half a day can add one fort, museum or beach. Clifton, Bonefish Pond, Cable Beach or a Paradise Island plan should each be treated as the main transfer, not stacked casually.
Safety and return
Use ship time, an agreed taxi fare and a named return point. Avoid unregistered personal-watercraft operators, watch valuables in crowds, and leave ferries, beaches and western-island sites early enough for a road fallback.
