Where does the ship dock?
Start with the arrival coast. Frederiksted supports a compact fort, waterfront and beach day beside the main cruise pier; Christiansted is a separate historic town reached by a cross-island road transfer unless a small vessel explicitly uses Gallows Bay.
Can I walk into town?
Walk central Frederiksted from the cruise pier or central Christiansted from a confirmed drop-off. Use authorised transport for every cross-island route and pre-arrange return vehicles for beaches, estates and park sites.
Practical information
US dollars are used and traffic keeps left. Follow USVI mineral-sunscreen rules, protect reef and mangrove habitat and treat currents, surf, heat and sudden rain as real constraints.
What fits the day?
Two hours covers Frederiksted’s fort and waterfront. Half a day can add one west-coast beach or one estate. Christiansted, Buck Island, Salt River, Cane Bay and Point Udall should each anchor a larger outing.
Safety and return
Use reputable boat and dive operators, match activities to ability and never promise turtles, calm water or visibility. Leave remote coasts early and retain the exact Frederiksted or Gallows Bay return identity.
