Greece · Offshore anchorage with ship-directed tender or Athinios disembarkation

Santorini

Most cruise guests use the old-port tender below Fira, but the Municipal Port Fund’s 2026 operating model can direct a minority through Athinios. Follow the ship’s allocation both ways: the two landings have completely different cliff and road connections.

Mykonos

Ships may berth at the New Port in Tourlos or tender to the Old Port beside Mykonos Town. These arrival points need different walking and shuttle assumptions, so confirm the ship notice before leaving.

Rhodes

Cruise berths sit on the eastern waterfront near Rhodes Old Town. Confirm the assigned pier, because walking time through the secure port and onward to the gates varies.

Heraklion

Ships berth inside Heraklion’s working port, with a controlled route or shuttle to the passenger exit. The Venetian harbour and city centre are nearby but not reached by walking across operational quay space.

Chania

Most cruise calls berth in the commercial port of Souda, several kilometres from Chania’s old town. Ship shuttle, public bus, taxi or excursion transport is required; the Venetian harbour is a destination, not the cruise berth.

Kuşadası

Cruise ships use an assigned Ege Port berth or anchor for a ship tender to the same passenger-port area beside Kuşadası town. Ephesus is a separate inland gateway excursion near Selçuk, not a walk from the terminal, so its road legs and site time need a ship-safe cutoff.

Istanbul

Ships use the underground terminal at Galataport on the European-side Karaköy waterfront. Istanbul’s historic peninsula and Asian shore are separate journeys through a congested, ferry-dependent city, so return to Galataport rather than the nearest waterfront.

Greece · Assigned Skala quay or offshore anchorage with tender landing

Patmos

Cruise calls use an assigned Skala quay or anchor offshore and tender to the passenger landing. Chora, the Cave of the Apocalypse and the Monastery of Saint John sit above the port by steep road and paths, so the assigned return point, sea state and downhill return all belong in the plan.

Türkiye · Assigned Bodrum Cruise Port berth or ship tender to the terminal

Bodrum

Ships use an assigned Bodrum Cruise Port berth or anchor for a ship tender to the terminal area on the Kumbahçe side of the bay. Walk, shuttle or taxi routes must return to the assigned cruise route rather than a ferry or marina pier.

Marmaris

Cruise ships use an assigned Marmaris Cruise Port berth or anchor for a ship tender to its sheltered landing by Netsel Marina. The long resort waterfront, İçmeler and Turunç extend well beyond the terminal and need a deliberate return plan.

Izmir

Cruise ships berth inside Izmir’s working Alsancak port, north of the central waterfront. Konak is an onward city journey and Ephesus is a separate long road excursion near Selçuk; neither should replace the recorded cruise gate on the return.

Limassol

Cruise ships use the modern passenger terminal inside Limassol New Port, several kilometres west of the historic centre. Limassol Old Port and the marina are public destinations, not interchangeable ship gates; Nicosia and Paphos are separate long road excursions.

Syros
